Steve Ruddock California Poker Flag

On February 26, 2015 and the Spectrum Gaming Group will host the second annual iGaming Legislative Symposium at the Sheraton Grand Sacramento Hotel in Sacramento, California.

The inaugural event held at the same locale on February 27, 2014, and was considered to be a massive success. The symposium brought together lawmakers, regulators, and iGaming analysts for informed discussion and debate as California continues to move towards legalized online poker.

While conferences don’t necessarily move the legislative ball forward, they do offer an intimate setting where people can meet and discuss their differences -and hopefully iron them out.

Additionally, statements -some prepared and some off the cuff – given at conferences such as this allow us to gauge the potential for iGaming expansion.

The agenda for IGLS 2015 looks to be just as strong

Building on the success of the 2014 IGLS conference, and Spectrum Gaming Group have put together what will certainly be another terrific conference.

The preliminary speaker list for the conference was revealed this week, and it’s a veritable who’s who of online gaming, along with a special keynote address by one of the people in the middle of the online poker fight in the Golden State.

The announced speakers will appear on six separate panels for what the conference is calling an “intensive, daylong program that will explore the aspects of the possible legalization of iGaming in California.”

The six panels are:

  • 2014: The Year in Review
  • The Future of iGaming in California
  • Critical Issues for a Successful iGaming Rollout
  • Is iGaming More Addictive Than Land-based Gaming?
  • iGaming Regulation in California
  • Legislation Initiatives

As noted above, there will also be a keynote luncheon address by California Assemblyman Mike Gatto, the sponsor of AB 9, which is one of the two online poker bills that have been introduced into the California Assembly during this legislative session. Assemblyman Reggie Jones-Sawyer’s AB 167 being the other.

Along with Gatto, the confirmed speakers to date include:
