The poker room at Southern California’s Pala Casino Spa & Resort should be filled with action in May. It offers players a chance to win their way into the 2018 World Series of Poker Main Event.

The room hosts another $10,000 Guaranteed Vegas Seat tournament from May 16 to 20.

Like similar events held earlier this year, this tournament features four starting flights. The first three begin at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 16 through Friday, May 18. The fourth is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 19. The event will play down to a winner on Sunday, May 20.

Fifteen percent of each Day 1 starting field will advance to Day 2. Players may enter more than one starting flight. They will receive a $200 bonus for qualifying for Day 2 the first time. The bonus jumps to $500 for the second time. Players will only carry the best stack forward to Day 2. All bonus money is deducted from the prize pool.

The entry fee is $175 with a $15 optional staff bonus giving players an additional 5,000 in chips. Each buy-in includes a $25 entry fee. Players start with 10,000 in chips.

There is also a one-time optional $50 add-on offering 15,000 more chips. Levels are 20 minutes on Day 1 and 30 minutes on the final day. Plus, unlimited re-entry is available for the first eight levels.

One WSOP Main Event seat guaranteed

Pala is guaranteeing one $10,000 WSOP Main Event seat for the winner, provided a minimum of 50 players enter the event.

Pala is not associated with the WSOP or Caesars Interactive Entertainment, owners of the WSOP, in any way. This explains why its $10,000 Guaranteed Vegas Seat event has no WSOP branding. Any tournament seats won come in the form of cashable casino chips.

The 2018 WSOP $10,000 Main Event is scheduled for July 2 to 14 in Las Vegas. Its four starting flights run July 2-4.

In 2017, the WSOP Main Event drew 7,221 entries creating a prize pool of almost $68 million. New Jersey’s Scott Blumstein won the title and an $8.15 million first-place prize.

Outside of the $10,000 Guaranteed Vegas Seat tournament, the poker room at Southern California’s Pala Casino Spa & Resort will also feature a number of regular promotions and tournaments in May.

More May tournaments

Its new Hump Day No Limit tournaments will run each Wednesday and Thursday, outside of May 16, 17, and 30. The $20 buy-in event features several opportunities to earn and purchase bonus starting chips.

The Pala Super Deep Stack tournament will run at 1 p.m. every Saturday, except May 12 and 26. This $125 buy-in has an optional $15 staff bonus buy and re-entries for the first three levels.

The Sunday Super Deep Stack will run at 10 a.m. every Sunday outside of May 13 and 20. This $125 buy-in also has an optional $15 staff bonus buy and re-entries for the first three levels.

Finally, the Friday Night $1.5K event will run at 7:15 p.m. on Fridays except May 18. The tournament features a $1,500 prize pool guarantee. The buy-in is $45+$10 with a $5 optional staff buy, a $20 add-on for $10,000 chips, and re-entry available through the first three levels.

Cash game promotions

Additional cash game promotions at Pala in May include an Hourly Mystery High Hand promotion on Saturday, May 19 and 26. Plus, the regular Progressive High Hand, Sunday High Hand Frenzy, and Chase for the Dough promotions continue throughout the month.

Additionally, Pala Poker will continue to live stream its 2-3-5 No Limit Hold’em action from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. every Friday and Saturday in May on its Facebook page.

Pala also runs licensed and regulated online pokeronline casino, and online bingo sites in New Jersey.
