Sycuan Casino will be the one giving giving the gifts as it celebrates a birthday next month.

The San Diego-area Native American casino is giving away $550,000 in cash and freeplay prizes for 34 days leading up to its 34th anniversary on Nov. 18.

Sycuan is hosting drawings every hour from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. daily. Plus, there is a guaranteed $10,000 cash winner every day. The daily drawings began last night and will run through Friday, Nov. 17.

Plus, Sycuan’s anniversary celebration on Saturday, Nov. 18 will feature drawings every hour from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a guaranteed $34,000 cash winner. The event will also feature live entertainment, food, and free gift giveaways.

“It’s an exciting time at Sycuan Casino as we kick off our 34th Anniversary promotion,” said Sycuan General manager John Dinius in a press release. “We look forward to congratulating the many lucky winners in the coming weeks and celebrating another great year in business.”

From Bingo Palace to casino

Sycuan Casino opened as a Bingo Palace in 1983. The property underwent a renovation in 2012 and now features more than 2,000 slot machines and 40 table games, plus bingo, a 17-table poker room, and a variety of dining and entertainment options.

Food, drink, and entertainment venues include the GameDay Sports Bar & Grill. It features 39 wide-screen TVs and five 90-inch units. GameDay also has bar-top slot machines and a Party Pit complete with three blackjack tables, in addition to its massive menu and 30 beers on tap.

Sycuan also houses the Sycuan Live & Up Close 452-seat entertainment venue, which hosts national musical acts and comedians all year long.

The casino is technically located in El Cajon, a half-hour drive east of San Diego. It is open 24 hours a day, with a free shuttle service for Club Sycuan card holders to a dozen locations around the San Diego area. Club Sycuan membership is free.

$226 million Sycuan Casino expansion

Sycuan Casino is owned and operated by the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation. The band broke ground on a $226 million, 500,000-square-foot expansion in March. The expansion will include 60,000 square feet in gaming space for 2,500 slot machines, 300 bingo-style gaming machines, and 80 table games.

Additionally, construction is underway on a 12-story hotel tower of 300 rooms and 50 suites. Amenities will include a 9,000-square-foot spa and fitness area, pool and gardens with cabanas, and a bar and grill.

The expansion is on pace for completion in 2019.
